DVD goes HD with Toshiba

In Product News On

Toshiba’s Qosimo F50 and G50 laptops upscale standard-def DVDs to HD and the maker has hinted that this technology could soon be available on its televisions and DVD players.
The Toshiba Quad Core HD processor has been designed to convert standard-definition content into high-definition footage. What’s more, the processor also enables gesture control. This means that video playback can be controlled using simple hand gestures, which are captured by the PC’s integrated camera.
Toshiba strongly hinted that the new processing chip would be included on home entertainment kit, particularly televisions, in the near future, so watch this space.
