Music media company LoveLive is teaming up with global electronics brand LG to bring exclusive live music experiences to over a million UK homes, with the launch of its own branded smart TV app – LoveLive TV.
LoveLive TV will be available to download exclusively for free on LG Smart TVs (including models dating back to 2012).
The new app’s launch content will reportedly feature exclusive video of live performances and backstage interviews from a range of music festivals, concerts, and intimate performances, showcasing artists such as Ben Howard, John Newman, Disclosure, Florence and the Machine, Mumford & Sons, Jessie J and Two Door Cinema Club.
Users will be able to access their preferred artists by searching through five curated sections within the app, namely concerts, festivals, sessions, backstage and live feed, the latter to be launched in the coming months.
Fresh content will be uploaded on an ongoing basis from a variety of sources, including LoveLive and Universal Music Group’s video catalogues.
The LoveLive TV app will be live-stream enabled, meaning viewers can also view major music events in real-time from their own homes, and details of the app’s first live-stream shows will be announced in the coming months.
LG Electronics UK senior content and services manager Darren Petersen said: “This is an exciting year for LG’s Smart TV offering, and we’re proud to be adding LoveLive to our entertainment portfolio. LoveLive’s reputation for creating and curating content with the highest production values means our customers can be put right in the centre of the action, and all from the comfort of their own homes. Through continuing to partner with outstanding service providers, such as LoveLive, we will ensure that LG Smart TV continues to deliver an incomparable entertainment experience.”
All content will be delivered to the app via LoveLive’s recently developed content management system, L-Platform. In the first phase of launch, the app will not be ad-funded but in phase two, to be rolled out in the coming months, opportunities will include category sponsorship, page branding, as well as in-video advertising. Phase two launch will also see LoveLive TV made available on other smart TV brands.
