The CE leader showcases its eco technologies
Moored at St Katharine’s Dock in London, the Samsung Eco Home is a showcase of the manufacturer’s leading technologies. It was developed to demonstrate Samsung’s “premium design, smart connectivity and energy efficiency” said Robert King, Samsung vice president, Consumer Electronics, unveiling the Eco Home.
The floating house is equipped in a number of Samsung products with eco-credentials, such as Ecobubble washing machine, G-Series refrigeration, smart floorcare, such as NaviBot, and the Dual Cook steam oven. “Advanced refrigeration with Twin Cooling ensuring that food is stored in optimum temperature, the flagship Smart TV and evolution technology allowing to upgrade current TV models with the latest features, are all examples of Samsung’s smart and sustainable technologies,” added Mr King.
The Eco House concept was developed by Danish designer Alexander Høst who works on projects aimed at making urban living spaces more sustainable.
The idea of the floating home came from the Northern European cities where people make their homes on rivers using ‘smart’ energy of water and solar power.
The focus of the demonstration was the newly launched Samsungs’ Dual Cook steam oven whose split cavity permits eight cooking options; including split traditional cooking/steam cooking and steam assisted cooking/steam cooking.
