What’s cooking at Samsung?

In Industry News On

The full extent of Samsung’s investment in the white goods sector and the company’s intention to establish itself as a major player in this market is reflected by the suite of built-in cooking appliances which the manufacturer has just launched.

The new range of Samsung built-in kitchen appliances are all designed to encourage healthy eating, easy maintenance and cooking flexibility. The Samsung Dual Cook technology, which utilizes a heat protective shelf and twin fans to cook different dishes at different temperatures, is a key feature of Samsung’s latest ovens, the Geo Dual Cook and the Prezzio Dual Cook, which are new design options for the Samsung range.

The Prezzio Dual Cook is Samsung’s first pyrolytic oven offering all the benefits of self-cleaning oven technology. Samsung has also launched its first ever steam oven to fit a 45cm niche.  Available in the original Metro design, there will also be a GEO design steamer to match the GEO oven later in the year. Samsung’s steam ovens will boast a 30 litre capacity with steam, convection and grill cooking capabilities.

The star of Samsung’s new range of induction hobs is the AnyPlace Induction Hob. It allows free use of space, rather than being limited to certain cooking zones like a conventional hob meaning that users can cook multiple dishes at the same time.

Andrew Jones, product manager for Samsung Home Appliances commented:  “This is our strongest ever range of built-in cooking appliances and shows that Samsung is a serious player in this field. We pride ourselves at being at the forefront of technological development in all product areas and these are products that will enable us to continue our journey into a market that is dominated with established players, with a great deal of confidence”

Even larger washes

Samsung have also extended its home laundry line-up.  The range now includes a 6kg ‘Diamond’ washing machine, a new bigger 9kg ‘AIR Refresh’ washing machine and a 7kg (5kg dry) washer-dryer alongside the original 7kg and 8kg AIR Refresh line.

The new 6kg ‘Diamond’ range is available in 1200 & 1400rpm spin variants, offering a range of innovative features. The model incorporates Samsung’s diamond drum which uses smaller, diamond shaped drainage holes to prevent snags in fabric. A double ceramic coated anti-limescale heater reduces lime scale build-up and makes your machine last up to three times longer, as well as increasing heating efficiency and reducing energy consumption.

The line of AIR Refresh models is now available in a 9kg size. The model allows users to freshen up their dry clean-only laundry. This bigger capacity gives families the ability to wash and refresh up to 50% larger loads.  This version utilises AIR Refresh in a new EZ Iron function for laundry results with fewer creases. Another great feature of this range is the Silent Motion drive which cuts out a large amount of the noise and movement associated with washing as it drives the drum directly without the use of a band.
