‘Bluetooth Caskeid’ launched by Pure

In Product News On

Pure has announced that its Jongo wireless multiroom speakers (pictured) can now be used with any music streaming service including Pandora, Rdio, Deezer and Spotify. This new update is enabled through the integration of ‘Bluetooth Caskeid’, an enhancement to the synchronisation technology used in Jongo speakers.

Pure says that globally, there are 500 different music services available across 100 territories, as well as thousands of radio apps. This new flexible approach allows music fans to stream their preferred music or radio service, whether that be Radioplayer in the UK, SiriusXM in the US, Spotify or lesser known apps such as Madagascar radio, to multiple Jongo speakers and enjoy their favourite playlists and content throughout their homes.

Caskeid is a licensable technology developed by Pure’s parent company, Imagination Technologies, to deliver accurate synchronized wireless multiroom connected audio streaming. The patented Caskeid technology delivers ‘audiophile-quality’ stereo playback with less than 25µs synchronisation accuracy.

This new enhancement to Caskeid delivers app content to multiple speakers with a combination of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Users select their chosen music or radio service app and send it via Bluetooth to a single Jongo speaker in a group. The Caskeid technology integrated into the Jongo speakers takes care of ensuring that music is then seamlessly and synchronously sent to all the speakers in the group.

Pure marketing director Nick Hucker comments: “Jongo was designed with flexibility in mind and now we’ve taken this concept a huge step further with Bluetooth Caskeid, which brings the worlds’ most accurate and advanced audio synchronisation technology together with the most comprehensive audio content, to a much wider audience, giving them the choice to listen to whatever they want, in great quality throughout the home.”

Both Android and iOS users can now access this new feature.
