Kitchen appliance manufacturer Gorenje has announced the appointment of Simon Jones as North West regional sales manager.
Simon (pictured) has over nine years of experience in the industry, managing and overseeing large retailing groups including CIH and the Sirius Buying Group. Over the last nine years Simon has mainly worked with independent retailers, helping drive sales through product awareness and local advertising.
Gorenje UK sales director Stuart Benson commented: “It is a strong appointment for the business and another positive step forward in increasing our share in the UK market. Simon has a great array of experience and an excellent skill set to help drive our North West region, so we’re delighted to welcome him on board.
“Simon’s experience and knowledge, in particular with the independents, should prove a great asset to raising brand awareness with our trade partners in the UK.”
In his new role, Simon will be responsible for developing trade partnerships in the North West and managing a number of key accounts in the region.
The company has made a number of announcements in 2016 including partnering with the Energy Saving Trust and launching an exclusive collection designed by world-renowned designer Phillipe Starck.
Simon commented: “Gorenje is a quality brand, which is really starting to gain a presence in the UK and continues to grow nicely in the independent sector. Its selective strategies in the market mean that retailers can sell with confidence.
“I’m excited to start my new role and to get out there and shout about the brand. In particular, I’m looking forward to getting customers behind the products and watching Gorenje’s sales grow.”
