Hoover makes freezer donation to help Derbyshire charity

In Industry News On

Hoover has gifted a chest freezer to South Derbyshire CVS to help the charity cope with the volume of food donations it’s receiving.

The charitable organisation, which provides food parcels to people facing difficult times, has noted a significant and rapid increase in those needing its service. As the community, including local supermarkets, has drastically increased the number of donations to help those in need, the charity was struggling to keep frozen food due to lack of space.

Kitchen appliance manufacturer Hoover stepped in and donated one of its large capacity CFH382AWK chest freezers, giving the organisation plenty of room to store increasing amounts of food donations.

South Derbyshire CVS direct service manager Karen Mitchell commented: “The donation has been a life-saver due to us having recently received a huge food donation, we simply couldn’t have held such a large amount of food beforehand.

“It’s sad to see that so many families need our help, but it’s a testament to the large organisations, including Hoover, that are helping us out by gifting food items and appliances. We, along with our service users, are extremely grateful.”

Steve Macdonald, marketing director of Hoover’s freestanding division, said: “Organisations like South Derbyshire CVS are a vital part of local communities and we’re really pleased to be able to help the charity in its work helping people.

“With increased demand for food banks, particularly in areas where universal credit has been rolled out, we’re really pleased to be able to help the organisation in its work to improve the quality of life for people in South Derbyshire.”
