At IFA 2013, LG Electronics also displayed its Lightwave Convection Oven equipped with Charcoal Lighting Heater.

“The Charcoal Lighting Heater is essential in helping customers cook delicious meals much more conveniently,” said Seong-jin Jo,President and CEO of LG Electronics Home Appliance Company. “The technology also helps cook foods more naturally. Fats are reduced and nutrients are locked in.” He added that “People have become more concerned about additives in their food. This has led to an increase in cooking at home, and LG’s Lightwave Convection Oven goes a long way to helping ensure that home cooking really is healthier cooking.”

With features that include functions of both microwaves and ovens, LG’s Lightwave Convection Oven gives consumers the chance to cook meals that have an oven-cooked quality, but made with the convenience of a microwave. The featured Charcoal Lighting Heater uses a charcoal filament to maintain a natural flow of heat that penetrates deep into the dish, creating the crispy-on-the-outside, juicy-on-the-inside result. Meanwhile, lightwaves are infused into the dishes to reduce unnecessary salt and fat while retaining vitamin C and other nutrients. With the option of 20 Steam Cooking programs, consumers can create more diverse dishes at home. The Charcoal Lighting Heater also allows dishes to be cooked up to three times faster, while also saving energy.

Additional accessories such as the SteamChef, Crispy Tray and Steam Bowl enable consumers to prepare a wide range of healthy dishes with ease while its Child Lock feature and pull-down door is a welcome safety addition.
