UK based audio design and engineering specialist Otone Audio has appointed Stephen Hoare as its new managing director.
Stephen joins the company with over 25 years’ experience in marketing, sales and product management within the consumer electronics industry having held senior roles at Kensington and Belkin.
Otone’s preceding managing director Gareth Thomas, who is leaving Otone after four and a half years to pursue a new career path, built a close working relationship with Stephen during their four years together at Belkin. Due to his extensive experience in brand building and product development, Stephen was a clear choice for the role, demonstrating the skills needed to drive the business forward during a time of significant investment and growth, Otone says.
Stephen (pictured) commented: “It’s an exciting time to be joining Otone’s journey and I’m looking forward to utilising my experience to help support and grow the team as well as introduce outstanding new products to the market.
“Following a successful 12 months with the launch of Wi-Fi Direct multi-room speaker, BluWall Direct, Otone has not only positioned itself as a market leader in design and quality, but also in cutting-edge technology. I’m very much looking to retain this momentum in 2016 and build upon the great success Otone has achieved with its range of stylish, affordable products for the masses.”
Outgoing managing director Gareth Thomas said: “We have spent a considerable amount of time selecting the right person for Otone and with Stephen we’re certain we’ve found someone who understands the brand’s vision and is passionate about supporting growth and market penetration with both the national and independent retailers in 2016.”
Otone currently has 15 products within its portfolio with plans to introduce additional systems over the next 12 months.
