Earlier this year Italian appliance manufacturer Smeg announced SeeSaw Oxfordshire as its Charity of the Year 2017. As one of the brand’s first major fundraisers this year, team Smeg is taking on the 100km ‘Nightrider’ bike ride.
Taking place in the city of London across June 10 and 11, team Smeg will start and finish its cycle at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford, whilst also passing some of London’s most iconic and beautiful landmarks including Westminster, Big Ben, St. Paul’s Cathedral, The Mall, Buckingham Palace and Tower Bridge.
Smeg has previously highlighted its desire to support its local area, and the company adds that it is a ‘huge honour’ to support the local charity and the fundraising efforts demonstrate Smeg’s continued commitment towards its local community.
Based in Headington, Oxford, SeeSaw is a local bereavement charity which provides first-hand and face-to-face support to children and families dealing with loss or grief. SeeSaw provides quick, same day responses and ongoing bereavement support up until the age of 18. Since it was established in Oxfordshire over 15 years ago, the charity has supported over 4,300 children, young people and families.
