The Appliance Recycling Group (ARG) has pledged to donate items worth £100,000 in social value to Reuse Network, its charity partner for 2024.
ARG recycles waste electrical and electronic equipment at 14 sites across the UK and processes more than 60,000 domestic appliances every year.
In 2023, its donations to the Milton Keynes-based Appliance Reuse Network helped 209 households to gain access electrical items, saving £39,150 compared to buying them new.
James Farmer, ARG managing director, said the commercial value of the commitment is more than £250,000 a year, which equates to £100,000 of social value.
He said: “Through our strategic donations model, this agreement will see a regular supply of stock for Reuse Network members. The network’s work to protect and support society’s most vulnerable should not be taken for granted.”
Hannah Jordan, commercial manager at Reuse Network, added: “Having ARG choose us as one of their charity partners for 2024 is fantastic news for our members.
“Their support of has already proved invaluable through the social impact the donations have on local communities. We are looking forward to seeing this partnership grow in 2024 through the reuse of white goods.”
