Based in the North of England, Cello Electronics which manufactures affordable LCD televisions retailed through a wide range of channels – from John Lewis to Netto, and makes own brand products for the likes of Marks & Spencer and Littlewoods, has announced its two firsts on the UK market.
The company has launched the UK’s first Personal Video Recorder (PVR) Freeview TV that records onto SD cards rather than a built-in hard drive. The TV’s SD card functionality means consumers can now make unlimited recordings, keep their favourite programmes without taking up valuable storage space on a hard drive, play their programmes on computers and different TVs with the same PVR SD card feature and create backups of their favourites. Complete with two tuners and SD slots to enable the recording of two channels at once, the HD ready TV also has a unique split screen functionality, so that two channels can be viewed at once.
Cello Electronics has launched another UK first – the iViewer – a TV that allows consumers to stream BBC iPlayer and Sky Player directly through their TVs without the need for a set top box or games console. Like any computer, the iViewer connects to the internet directly via an Ethernet cable (supplied) or Wi-Fi dongle (optional extra) – all that’s required is a broadband service.
