Sirius Buying Group, one of the UK’s major buying groups in the electrical appliance and kitchen retail industry is delighted to deepen its relationship with Haier, the world’s leading appliance brand with the launch of the latest product range to Sirius members.

The Sirius team and Sirius members had a private viewing at the Haier UK head offices in Birchwood, Cheshire and experienced the newest innovations in kitchen and laundry technology with Haier’s Sharon Hamer, Field Sales Director – Independent and Lee Collett, Channel Director.

Steve Jones, Managing Director at Sirius says, “We had a fantastic meeting with Haier and we are very excited about the opportunities it presents to Sirius members as it continues to develop its presence in the UK market. There are some excellent products and unique propositions which will help independent retailers to serve their communities with the latest user-friendly technology at a variety of price points. We champion giving our members the flexibility and freedom to develop their businesses as they wish through our special relationships with our Approved Suppliers as well as the unbeatable peer-to-peer support within our business community.”

Lee Collett, Channel Director at Haier says, “We are passionate about our products and what Haier can offer to Sirius, so it was great to see so many members brave the weather to visit our showroom. The opportunity to launch a premium brand within Sirius  is one that has been embraced by the group and it was great to be able to discuss the proposal and present the range in person. We look forward to continuing with such events going forward.”

With the UK economy presenting a mixed picture against the ongoing cost of living crisis and a slow housing market, the race for space continues to play out in the premium market. Homeowners are looking at the bigger picture when investing in the family home which will translate into an increased demand for high-performance appliances from the most reputable and well-known brands going forwards. In fact the latest research indicates that the growth rate of the global market for luxury goods is 5.4% by 2030. Therefore, it makes sense to have more premium offers available for aspirational end-users as the most desirable brands never go out of style and manufacturers are full on board with targeting the needs of younger generations and millennials as well as the mature market.

Mark Veysey, Head of Operations at Sirius Buying Group notes, “The independent retailer is well-placed to research and get in front of the latest developments earmarked for their local region whether that be a new housing estate, brownfield conversions or long-term urban renewal projects. At Sirius we understand that our members are focussed on several short-term, medium-term and long-term goals which is why we want to help them secure a steady stream of happy customers. With our tailored advice and business coaching we can help our members to get more clarity about how they want to grow their reach and what will be their USP to drive more traffic to their door. Too many businesses can be hampered by complicated processes or concerns about ‘getting it wrong’ when looking to enhance their digital presence, so we want to make sure they are optimising every tool in the box to fulfil their ambitions.”

The world in 2023 is increasingly complex and there’s no doubt that successful businesses need to have a strong online and bricks and mortar presence as retailers adjust to changing consumer preferences. In fact Forbes states that e-commerce will account for 47% of retail growth by 2027. Alongside this trend is an increasing desire for personalisation and immersive experiences, so that target consumers can get a real flavour of your offer and your showroom before they even set foot in it. With this in mind, both the product assortment and the next level customer service offered by the independent need to be foundational parts of your business planning in 2023 and beyond.
