L-R, Stuart Hopwood, IER Managing Editor, Andrew Wright, Cookology MD -Iceking Brand Owner, Duncan Williams, Head of Trade Sales.
Meeting up with old industry friends, Andrew and Duncan, is always ideal. Witnessing their continuing success and growth was an even greater experience and absolute privilege.
IER will be focusing more on the 2026 Cookology & Iceking progress and beneficial offerings to the UKs independent electrical retailers durin the coming months. The IER Spring magazine will focus on Iceking, whilst the IER Summer edition will take a mid-year look at Cookology as a whole.
In the meantime, it’s worthwhile to summarise and look at how Iceking became to be acquired as an integral part of the already successful and developing Cookology business plan.
Talking with Andrew, Cookology’s MD, securing a 30-year-old refrigeration line, was a commitment and significant investment to the trade sector.
Cookology, deemed as one of the UK’s fastest-growing appliance brands, acquired the Iceking brand from Domestic Appliance Distributors Limited (D.A.D) in 2025. This move has strengthened Cookology’s presence in the independent retail channel, whilst maintaining a well-known brand in the refrigeration space.
Some may remember at the time, the acquisition included all Iceking stock already in the UK, along with products ready for dispatch from the factory. Cookology had already placed new orders with manufacturing partners that have long supported both companies, ensuring consistency and continuity in product quality.
Integration of Iceking’s stock and operations into Cookology’s systems was completed quickly and has now been effective for a few months.
As a 30-year-old brand with a strong reputation among independent retailers, Iceking continues to operate under its existing name. Backed by Cookology’s operational infrastructure and resources, the brand is benefitting from renewed investment while maintaining its familiar identity.
To reinforce Cookology’s commitment to the trade channel, Duncan Williams, who has worked with the Iceking brand for over 13 years, joined as Head of Trade Sales. This was a natural transition. Many will know Duncan who has extensive experience and deep knowledge of the brand its customer base and the industry as a whole.

Andrew Wright, MD – Cookology
Andrew Wright, Managing Director at Cookology, said: “Iceking is a trusted and recognised name in the UK appliance market, and we’re delighted to have brought it under the Cookology umbrella. Our priority will continue to reassure trade partners that it’s business as usual, and that we’re committed to breathing new life and growth into the Iceking brand.
We’ve built strong relationships with the factories that have supported Iceking for many years, and we’ll continue to invest in the brand to strengthen its position in the independent retail channel.”

Duncan Williams, Head of Trade Sales – Cookology & Iceking
Duncan Williams added: “The 2025 acquisition represented a fantastic opportunity to revitalise Iceking while maintaining the values and relationships that have made the brand so respected. Cookology’s support and investment has allowed us to build on Iceking’s strong foundation, ensuring our partners continue to receive the quality, reliability, and service they’ve come to expect.
During 2026, I’m looking forward to continuing working closely with our independent retailers and buying groups to take the brand to the next level.
With a new Iceking display imminently destined for the new Cookology showroom, there are more exciting times ahead”
Cookology’s acquisition of Iceking has ensured that retailers can continue to access the brand’s popular refrigeration and appliance ranges. Further investment is planned to drive growth and product development in 2026 and beyond.
