Based in Anfield, in the heart of Liverpool, BIKA was established in 1990 and is one of the largest white goods showrooms in the UK with an area of 20,000 square feet, stocking popular brands like AEG, Rangemaster, Stoves, Hotpoint, Neff, Bosch, Smeg, Hoover, CDA and Hotpoint.
This retail hotspot serves the city of Liverpool and the North-west of England, as well as North Wales, with a USP focussed on commitment and convenience so every customer can source all their domestic appliances, sinks, taps and waste disposal systems in one place; either in-store or online via click and collect or home delivery.
BIKA has built up an enviable customer base, which primarily serves trade clients including architects, developers, landlords, kitchen companies, builders as well as UK homeowners. Steve Woods, Owner and Managing Director at Built-In Kitchen Appliances says, “Independent retailers work extremely hard to run a profitable and progressive business. Like many Sirius members, Steve W has long been a trailblazer as he explains, “I trained as a refrigeration engineer – that’s how I got into appliances. I wanted to go into kitchen appliance retail, but I wanted to do it a little bit differently. I couldn’t understand why nobody had offered built-in kitchen appliances – hence the name of our company. When we started, we only did ovens and hobs and integrated appliances. No one could understand what we were doing, but it worked very well. I wanted to swim against the tide as I could see there was an opening for built-in products. We ended up with 17 shops, but we wanted to find a site that was under one roof. The premises we’re in now was once a famous Liverpool nightclub called The Wookey Hollow. We bought the site and moved here in 2000.
Two decades on we have a team of 24 including drivers, warehouse and office staff and salespeople and we have three large vans on the road.”
Built-In Kitchen Appliances’ Anfield showroom offers a truly immersive experience with thousands of products on display in kitchen room sets to help customers envisage how they will look and feel in their own home. As an accredited retailer for many leading brands, BIKA offers a dedicated Smeg Zone and a Siemens iQ Centre in its showroom, together with branded areas for Neff, Bosch, AEG and Belling and Stoves among others.
