From Appliances to Impact: Beko and Barnardo’s Celebrate Half a Million Pound Donation Milestone

Beko, the UK’s bestselling home appliance brand, has presented charity partner Barnardo’s with a cheque for £500,000. The money, a large proportion made up of gifts in kind in the form of appliances as well as company-led fundraising initiatives, was presented to Ali Didar, Head of Relationship Fundraising at Barnardo’s, by Teresa Arbuckle, Regional Managing Director, Beko UK & Ireland.

Over the years, Beko has provided more than 1,200 brand-new appliances – including fridges, cookers, and washing machines – to families supported by Barnardo’s. These essential items, delivered and installed free of charge, have helped to ease the pressures of daily life for those experiencing financial hardship. As the partnership has evolved over the past 12 years, Beko has recognised that one of the most impactful ways to support Barnardo’s families is through product donations – offering practical support that improves home life and ensures children have functional living spaces in which to grow and thrive.

In addition to product donations, Beko employees have raised tens of thousands of pounds through a wide range of sponsored events, challenges, and fundraising – demonstrating their long-standing commitment to supporting children who need it most.

Ali Didar, Head of Relationship Fundraising at Barnardo’s, said:

“Beko’s commitment over the past 12 years has been nothing short of extraordinary. Their continued donations of essential household appliances have transformed the lives of so many of the families we support while their employees have raised vital funds through incredible effort and passion. We’re incredibly grateful for their support.”

Teresa Arbuckle, Managing Director, Beko UK & Ireland, commented:

“Reaching this incredible milestone of over £500,000 donated is something that fills me with immense pride not just as Managing Director, but as someone who has believed in this partnership from the very beginning. When I brought Barnardo’s on board as our charity partner 12 years ago, I knew it was the right fit. Beko is a brand rooted in helping families thrive, and Barnardo’s shares that same commitment at the most profound level.

Knowing that our appliances and fundraising efforts have brought comfort, dignity and hope to so many homes is deeply moving. This partnership means a great deal to me personally, and to everyone at Beko and we’re more committed than ever to standing alongside Barnardo’s as they continue their vital work.”

With further product donations and fundraising activities already planned into 2026, Beko remains firmly dedicated to helping Barnardo’s create brighter futures for the UK’s most vulnerable families.
