During a meeting at the UK HQ of SONY on Thursday 11th July, Jason Clark, [Head of Training SONY UK and Ireland], welcomed IER’s managing editor along with other Datateam colleagues, to enthusiastically discuss the unique functionalities of SONY sound and vision products offering the consumers an improved viewing and listening pleasure to enhance home cinema.

Oh, before we continue, the name BRAVIA. Where did this name come from? More about that later.

Back to the subject of making a difference with home cinema. The sound has always been an important, integral part of watching and enjoying movies, as those of us recognise and enjoy during our visits to the cinema.

Ironically, the movies you watch are more than likely produced by SONY Pictures, using SONY cameras, editing suites and possibly every other technical piece of equipment is SONY to ensure your movie arrives with the optimum viewing and listening image.

It therefore makes sense the technology behind the latest and future TVs and Soundbars reproduce high quality vision and sound in both cinema and home, hence the emphasis of CINEMA IS COMING HOME.

Jason further briefed us on SONY’s focus to optimise and enhance the already existing, high quality, broadcast signal, highlighting how audio makes a difference to home cinema.

With different levels of requirement to suit a variety of domestic environments, the BRAVIA Theatre U, BRAVIA Theatre Quad, BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8 and BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9, ensure, audio definitely makes a difference bringing the cinema home.

There will be much more news about SONY’s focus on sound in the next issues of the IER Magazine.

In the meantime, BRAVIA. Is it a place? An applause in another language? Well, neither.

We are informed, it’s, Best Resolution Audio Video Integrated Architecture.
