Specialist recruitment agency and online training provider, Simon Acres Group Limited gathered industry professionals on its stand during the recent INSTALLER SHOW 2024, to create an Apprenticeship & Skills Hub.
An ambassador of apprenticeships, training and self-development in the KBB, construction and merchant industries, Simon Acres Group hosted 24 sessions over the three-day exhibition. The sessions were led by various guest speakers who shared invaluable insights on hiring an apprentice and created a unified voice for the industry.
Companies with first-hand knowledge and experience in apprenticeships took the spotlight on the Simon Acres Group stand, which was designed as a mini theatre. Representatives from LEAP Apprenticeships & Early Careers, The Apprenticeship Partner, Achieve and Partners, Apprenticeship Ambassador Network (AAN), My First Great Job and Didac (a national training provider) offered guidance on how to hire an apprentice with ease. What’s more, industry specialists including Andy Gamble, who boasts over 40 years of experience in the builders’ merchanting industry, and spokespeople from Dunavox, SENSTEC, Kbsa, Cyncly, Pink Plumbing, Coalville Kitchens and The Furniture Makers’ Company provided their experience on apprenticeships and building a skilled workforce for the future of the industry. Key topics such as apprenticeship standards, the cost of having an apprentice and how hiring an apprentice can benefit a business were covered, which provided detailed insights to help address the skills shortage within the industry.
